Lithographic printing facility Reflex Litho Plus has invested in and installed a new Duran OMEGA Allpro 70 folder-gluer in order to enhance the efficiency of its finishing process

Operating as part of the Reflex Group of companies and based in Trafford Park in Manchester, Reflex Litho Plus specialises in the manufacture of cartons, sleeves, boxes and other materials for the food and associated industries.
To support its extensive finishing process, Reflex Litho Plus has taken on a Duran OMEGA Allpro 70 to enhance its firepower and continue to deliver quality products to its wide range of customers.
“We needed to purchase the OMEGA due to the fact that our existing folder gluer was no longer up to the job in terms of volumes, speed, efficiency and was requiring extensive maintenance in order to keep it running,” site and production manager Mike Webb said.
“The benefits include faster turnaround times, and the ability to match our press size better with larger cartons. Also it will enable us to retain in-house work that we had previously outsourced to other companies.”
Features on the 70cm-wide Duran OMEGA Allpro 70 include the ability to produce straight line, double wall, crash lock and optional 4 and 6 corners with single finger servo back-fold system.
Users also benefit from inner partition, Z-fold, conical crash lock and CD boxes, at a maximum belt speed of 400 m/min.
In addition, all folder-gluers in the Duran OMEGA Allpro range can be equipped with the OMEGA Turnpro, OMEGA Nick Breaker and OMEGA Ejection Section, as well as the OMEGA Pre-Feeder and OMEGA Pack Station.
As to how the machine will impact future work at Reflex Litho Plus, Webb said the investment will allow the company to bring in new customers from a number of markets.
“New and additional work will be attracted by this investment,” Webb said.
