Pepper Communications enhances uptime with new Baumann BSW3 Pile Turner
Print and direct mail company Pepper Communications has praised the impact that its new Baumann BSW3 Pile Turner has had on business, saying it has experienced a significant increase in uptime since installing the device.
Purchased from Friedheim International, the UK distributor for Baumann, the new BSW3 semi-automatic machine replaces an older device that Pepper said had become laboured and was incurring high repair costs.
Jon Carkett, production manager at Pepper, and Jake Whitford, production director at Pepper, both said that the new Baumann Pile Turner is helping to improve uptime at the company, which has in turn increased efficiency within its wider production process.
“Since installing the new Baumann machine, uptime has increased and pallets are turned far quicker,” Carkett and Whitford said. “The Baumann also compliments our most recent press investment: a Heidelberg XL 106 + 5 LX.“We have a robust sales strategy to increase our sales 10% each year, and our new Baumann Pile Turner allows us to work more efficiently with maximum uptime.”
Carkett and Whitford also spoke about how their ongoing working relationship with Friedheim International, especially with finishing and packaging sales specialist Tom Baker, played a major part in Pepper investing in the Baumann device.
“After reviewing all the models on offer with Tom Baker this one meets and exceeds our needs,” Carkett and Whitford said. “Having known Tom for many years now and purchased kit from Friedheim before, I am always confident of the experience and outcome.
“Pepper is always looking to make that marginal gain and drive efficiency and I am sure that the Baumann will not be our last investment with Friedheim.”
The Baumann Pile Turner BSW3 is a B1 machine with a maximum sheet format of 1,300mm x 1,850mm, as well as a top pile height of 2,020mm. The device also boasts a loading capacity of 2,000mm.
