Friedheim joins the SPA and takes on Robert Jess to sustain corrugated growth

The SPA is a platform to discuss shared interests and promotes best practices among member companies. It offers industry-specific development opportunities facilitates the exchange of information between member companies and wider corrugated industries. The extra support from the association and from new start Robert is expected to help Friedheim cover the expanding customer base across a wide range of geographical regions.  Friedheim’s sales team attended the 110th SPA conference this week to kick off the partnership, and formally receive the membership certificate.

E-commerce markets continue to drive demand for durable, efficient packaging, while technological advancements and enhanced printing improve functionality and branding potential. These are processes Friedheim’s range of solutions is well poised to support – resulting in a number of new orders in 2024, with even more expected of 2025.

As part of Friedheims continuing expansion plan, Robert Jess has been appointed as UK & Ireland Sales Specialist for our Packaging and Finishing divisions. Robert has a strong background in sales management and brings over twenty years of sales experience, with nine of those being in the corrugated industry.

‘Focusing on the northern territories, Robert will be responsible for supporting existing customers and developing new business for the extensive range of finishing solutions Friedheim offers’ Darren Crane, Managing Director.

With innovative and new to market solutions from the likes of VARO, the well-established Young Shin range of Die-Cutters, and the more recently added Heripack, Friedheim Finishing and Packaging divisions have both seen growth in converting sectors. The increasingly positive sentiment expected only to develop further throughout 2025 and 2026, so Robert is looking forward to a busy year.

The UK’s corrugated packaging sector is expected to grow steadily in 2025 driven by demand for sustainable materials and the expansion of e-commerce. Valued at $4.18 billion, the market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 2.59%, with support from government regulations promoting recyclability. Robert will aide our customers growth projects across all these areas.
