Heripack: HVR Volume Reducer
Fully automatic volume reducer
ENQUIREThe Heripack HVR minimizes package height efficiently, regardless of the original carton’s dimensions. A sensor detects the highest point of the contents, and a precise, low-wear cutting process trims the carton’s corners. Simultaneously, fold edges for the flaps are embossed. The flaps are then folded inward to achieve the optimal height. Finally, the lid is automatically folded along the edges and securely sealed with hot melt glue.

The Heripack HVR automated void reduction system optimises e-commerce and end-of-line packaging by automatically reducing carton height to match the contents inside. By removing unnecessary empty space within each carton, the HVR provides an efficient solution for void reduction, helping businesses reduce packaging materials, transport volume and operating costs.
Using intelligent content detection, the HVR measures the maximum height of the products inside each carton before cutting, creasing and folding the carton flaps to create a compact, content-specific package. This automated carton volume reduction eliminates the need to select different box heights manually, allowing a single carton size to accommodate products of varying dimensions.
The result is less void space, reduced requirements for cushioning and filling materials, and more efficient use of warehouse and transport capacity. Smaller, better-filled parcels can also increase the number of cartons transported per pallet or trolley, helping to reduce logistics costs and the environmental impact associated with unnecessary packaging volume.
Designed for high-volume packaging operations, the HVR combines void reduction and packaging automation in a compact, inline system. Its low-wear cutting process reduces the frequency of blade changes, while integrated hot-melt application automatically closes the reduced carton for a secure, professional finish.
Key benefits
- Automated void reduction – reduces unnecessary empty space inside shipping cartons.
- Automatic carton volume reduction – adjusts carton height to the contents of each package.
- Reduced packaging materials – minimises the need for void fill and cushioning materials.
- Improved logistics efficiency – reduces parcel volume and allows more cartons to be transported per pallet or trolley.
- Increased packaging productivity – automates the reduction, folding and closing of cartons.
- One carton size, multiple products – reduces the need to stock numerous carton heights.
- Low-maintenance cutting system – durable knives help minimise downtime and blade replacement.
- Compact inline design – integrates directly into an existing conveyor-based packaging line.
- Automated hot-melt closure – securely seals the carton after volume reduction.
- Industry 4.0 ready – optional process data analysis, service and teleservice functionality.
The Heripack HVR is available in multiple configurations, including the HVR 350, HVR 500, HVR 650 and HVR 900, supporting a wide range of carton dimensions and filling weights. Throughput varies by model and application, with the HVR 350 capable of up to 16 cartons per minute under suitable conditions.
For e-commerce fulfilment centres, distribution operations and other high-volume packaging environments, the HVR provides a practical way to reduce packaging voids, optimise carton volume and automate the end-of-line packaging process.
