Doncaster based Kingsbury Press have purchased and installed their first MBO T960 high speed folder from Friedheim International. Known for their extremely high-quality print and finishing, their stock in trade is attention to detail and “The Art of Print.” they have recently opened a studio in New York to compliment their Doncaster based operations and their London based studio.

The MBO T960 starts at approx. £150,000 depending on the optional extras, which the £5.7 million turnover company bought with the Z2 knife and FA66 stacker to increase the production of their brochures, books and marketing literature. The MBO replaces an ageing Stahl TH85 and was chosen specifically for the width, as one of their specific jobs has a requirement for 880mm working width which the MBO can take in it’s stride.
Howard Cherry, Sales Specialist for Post Press Solutions at Friedheim said, “The MBO T960 is a production work horse, the perfection series in general basically stands for the highest possible folding performance and maximum output.” Designed with the users in mind both regarding practical requirements and the variety of paper mediums, convenience plays a major role. Howard continues “I’ve known Kingsbury Press for many years and with the broad range of folded products the T960 was the perfect fit for Ed and the team.”
Edward Layton, Technical Director at Kingsbury said, “we listened to our most experienced folder operators who both insisted that their preferred choice of folder was the MBO due to its clever innovations and ease of operation. Slightly more competitively priced than the other folder option which made the decision easier from a management perspective too! Also, installation and training went through without hitch so believe our decision to partner with Friedheim and MBO was well judged in this instance.”
With two units in Doncaster 11,000sqft and 5000sqft, the MBO T960 joins a Heidelberg CTP, 2 B2 Heidelberg presses, 3 Polar guillotines, 5 Foiling and die cutting machines, an Oschner Gilding machine, Horizon stitcher, CMC case-makers, CMC casing-in and pressing, Lay-flat binding machines, a Ricoh digital press, Stahl Ta52 Folder and a Synergy Laminator. Kingsbury Press’ main clientele are luxury real estates projects and high-end brands such as Ferrari and Givenchy for traditional and specialist binding, presentation and box-making along with finishing and various invites and stationery. With over 60 years of trading, Kingsbury Press are well on their way to perfecting “The Art of Print.”
