Kent-based printing business Offset Print & Packaging has praised the impact of its new Baumann Pile Turner, describing the automated machine as an “essential tool” in its ongoing growth plans.

Purchased from Friedheim International, the exclusive distributor for Baumann technology in the UK, the Baumann Pile Turner was installed at Offset’s facility in Aylesford in January and has quickly become a key part of the company’s production line-up.

Offset is one of the leading print businesses in the UK, providing a wide range of services to customers both in the UK and overseas in Europe. Such is the reach of its offering that the company had been seeking a new piece of kit to bolster its capabilities as demand increases for its services.

Having previously worked with Friedheim International when purchasing a Koenig & Bauer gluer, Offset had no hesitation in returning to the finishing technology specialist for its latest investment.

“We needed a new pile turner machine due to our ongoing year-on-year growth and to also keep in line with our strategic investment plans across all areas of the business,” said Vince Brearey, Operations Director at Offset.

“We already have a large-format pile turner, but due to the increased volumes that we have been experiencing, we decided to add another large-format, fully automated pile turner to our plant, and the Baumann BSW7-2000 Pile Turner fitted the bill perfectly.

“The build quality of the Baumann Pile Turner is very high and represents really great value for money for us.”

Despite only having been in place at Offset for a matter of weeks, the Baumann Pile Turner has already been put to use on a wide range of jobs as the company reacts to demand from customers across the UK and wider European market.

“To put it simply, the Baumann Pile Turner will be an essential tool for us if we want to reach our predicted growth plan targets,” Vince said.
