The line incorporates Hunkeler off-line roll to cut and stack sheet lines running at approx. 150m/min integrated into an MBO T535 buckle folder with A500 stacking delivery and Herzog Heymann transfer stations bringing the potential speed up to 205m/min.

Founded in 1917 as Standard Check, they became Integrity Print after a management buyout (MBO) from Communisis in August 2008. The £50 million turnover company handles a wide range of jobs, from single copies in their digital print division to multi-million runs through the high-volume commercial print division. Their current work load includes business forms, integrated labels, commercial colour, adhesive labels, transaction and direct mail. They operate 25 narrow width litho web presses, 9 integrated web finishing lines, 6 flexo labels presses and 2 digital labels presses. The laser mail division runs 4 continuous and 5 cut sheet laser lines supported by three high speed enclosing lines.

Mark Cornford, Managing Director said “We initially started looking purely for a deep pile sheeter but Friedheim, after reviewing our requirements, came up with a proposal to build a fully integrated sheeter, folder, stacker line. This allowed us to improve process flow and massively increase capacity, in fact we’ve almost tripled our capacity with the new line.” He continues with, “the investment was made to improve production efficiency, allowing us to reduce the number of processes involved in converting pre-printed reels to sheeted, folded and finished products. We are targeting new sales of £1 Million per annum as a direct result of the investment, as we are now able to compete more effectively in the market for press inserts and high-volume leaflets. We have also secured some high-volume election work that requires specialist folding and sheeting that we would probably have declined prior to the investment.”

Integrity have historically been a trade supplier, supplying the UKs leading brands through a network of brokers and print managers. This means having a large range of products and market sectors, but they are particularly strong in the on-line retail, distribution, financial services, government and healthcare markets.

On current and future plans Chris Walton, head of Transaction said “Installation went very well and met all the planned schedules, and the two Friedheim engineers delivered a comprehensive training programme to our staff with a follow up session being planned later in the year. Our customers are extremely supportive and excited with the obvious opportunities and flexibility that a ‘white paper solution’ will bring. We hope to be in a position to make a positive announcement during Q2.

We have just invested in an additional Pitney Bowes (Bluecrest) MSE (Mailstream Evolution) 9 station continuous feed inserting line to our fleet. The new machine has the same ‘file based’ integrity software that is demanded by our transactional customer base. The machine will be fully commissioned and into live production by the second week of April. The MSE has been bought in line with our aggressive growth plans and to add further support to the SLA delivery of our current customer base.”

Robin Brown, Friedheim’s National Sales Manager Digital Division said, “Integrity Print Ltd have been a loyal Hunkeler user for over 30 years, and the latest investment has brought them to the leading edge of technology with the high end, high speed finishing line that can produce cut-sheet and folded mail pieces at an incredible pace. We feel privileged with the trust that the team at Integrity has displayed in us to future proof their business for them.”

Mark Cornford concludes with, “Integrity operate in a market where our clients expect world class manufacturing and we have partnered with Friedheim to ensure that we can meet this expectation. The equipment delivers the process improvement and efficiency benefits that are part of our strategy to transform our business into an agile and responsive print service provider.”
