As part of Friedheim International’s aim of making the printing production and finishing processes as easy and as cost effective as possible, we exclusively handle the Rotek range of paper pile turners in the UK and Ireland. The Rotek pile turner is one of the best known brands globally, provides higher pile quality and faster production for printers and paper and board converters.
Pile turning (or stack turning as it is also referred to) is the process by which a stack of paper can be turned without undue stress on an operator. This reduction in manual hard work normally results in increased productivity (due to less fatigue). Pile turning also has other benefits, including the following:
- Dust removal – thereby producing better quality
- Separation of cutting edges and elimination of static electricity – can lead to less printing misfeeds
- Enables easy removal of misprinted or damaged sheets
- Can facilitate faster ink drying
The range of pile turners supplied by Rotek is divided into two main types – the Fork model and the Platform model. There are currently three variants available in the standard Fork version, with the main differences being in the maximum sheet size handled (from 72 x 104 cm to 120 x 160 cm), and the maximum weight of the pile (from 900 kg up to 2000 kg). The same capacities are featured in the standard Platform model, for which there are currently four variants.
Besides the standard machines listed above, Rotek can supply the Fork model with a blower (three variants), and the Platform model with both blower and vibration (four variants). If, for some reason, none of the currently available models are suitable for a user’s requirements, Rotek has the experience and technical know-how to custom design a pile turner to a specific set of parameters.
