Film laminating, whether it be for single sheets, book covers or other application, and whether performed in-house or at a specialist laminating company, is an important aspect in the finishing process.  Tauler is the company in this particular sector that Friedheim International represents exclusively in the UK and Ireland, and its PrintLam range of laminating machines covers all sizes and types that may be required by the user, from small to large format, as well as covering the digital process.

Tauler - Print Laminate CTIAlthough dedicated laminating houses have a role to play as part of the printing process, bringing laminating in-house can have its advantages, as long as the right equipment is chosen!  In-house laminating offers more control over your production process in terms of the fact that the machine is available whenever you need it, for example if a customer sets an urgent deadline, and very soon becomes very cost effective as you are not subject to any minimum charge, no matter what the quantity!  Overall, installing your own laminating machine can improve efficiency and lower your unit costs of production!

Friedheim and Tauler can help to achieve these potential cost savings by offering the following laminating machines in the PrintLam range:

Tauler PrintLam Smart 52PrintLam Smart 52 – a highly mobile unit, the Smart 52 is the smallest model in the range, and because it occupies such a small space, can be ‘tucked away’ in a corner!  The Smart 52 can handle a minimum format of 150 x 200 mm and a maximum format of 520 x 720 mm, and operates at a speed of up to 15 metres per minute.

PrintLam Digital B2 – featuring automatic sheet feed and a pressure roller protection system, this model is ideally suited to operate in a digital printing environment.  Capable of handling a maximum format of 520 x 750 mm and up to 600 gsm in weight, the Digital B2 can deliver at a rate of up to 30 metres per minute.

PrintLam CTI – this model is available in two different size formats – 52 and 75, with both possessing a maximum mechanical speed of 30 metres per minute.  Format sizes range from a minimum of 200 x 250 mm (both models!) to a maximum of 520 x 750 mm (CTI 52) and 750 x 1050 mm (CTI 75).

PrintLam CTIS – this particular model is similar to the CTI in its range of size formats, ie, 52 and 75, but the ‘S’ designates that it is supplied with its own incorporated stacker delivery to provide even greater flexibility in its operation, as well as improved productivity.

Tauler PrintLam CTISPrintLam Plus – also available in two different size formats – 70/50 and 110/70 – the Plus models are the fastest production units, capable of achieving a maximum mechanical speed of up to 50 metres per minute (70 metres per minute with the 110/70).  Both models can handle a substance weight of up to 600 gsm, with the larger 110/70 version additionally capable of handling a maximum format size of 1100 x 1400 mm.

Besides the range of laminating machines mentioned above, Friedheim International is also able to supply thermal laminating film in both Gloss and Matt versions.  Both types of film are available in 3000 metre rolls, and in a range of different roll widths (11 x gloss, 10 x matt): minimum size available is 220 mm; maximum 1010 mm.
