Digi-Finisher – providing personally printed products for everyone!

MBO - Click here to visit their site

Described as the new ‘machine generation’, the Digi-Finisher combines a folding machine with a saddle-stitcher and is the result of a technological initiative and joint venture from MBO and Hohner.MBO Hohner Digifinisher

The Digi-Finisher is a highly flexible system for the production of saddle-stitched brochures, and enables folding and saddle stitching to occur in one machine, operating either in-line or off-line. Digitally printed, digitally personalised and offset printed sheets of either four or eight sheets can be processed. An intelligent barcode control and monitoring system detects page numbers and contents of the sheets, before being sorted, processed to brochures and marked accordingly.

The following sizes and products can be processed:

4 pages:

Maximum: 44 cm width x 35 cm length
Minimum: 20 cm width x 15 cm length

8 pages:
Maximum: 44 cm width x 70 cm length
Minimum: 20 cm width x 30 cm length

With off-line operation, the pile feeder with the Vacustar feeder head separates the sheets and feeds them into the MBO folder and then onto the Hohner saddle-stitcher.

With in-line operation, the sheets from the web press are cut at the sheeter and guided over the conveyor table into the MBO folding machine, and then onto the Hohner saddle-stitcher. The Digi-Finisher can stand either linearly to the printing press and the sheeter, or at an angle utilising a cross-carrier.

For providing personally printed products for a variety of applications to completed brochures the Digi-Finisher is a clever solution with high flexibility and efficiency. Utilising two proven and reliable machines, the MBO folder and Hohner saddle-stitcher, not only do these produce the highest quality, but also the smallest quantity of wasted sheets!

In addition, when not being used together, it is possible to operate both the folder and the saddle-stitcher as independent stand-alone machines.
